I finally finished my quilt! Quilts take me such a l.o.n.g time to make but there isn’t a better feeling than when you pull it out of the dryer and see it in it’s crinkly goodness! This is the Thimble Blossoms Sampler quilt kit from Sew Lux Fabric. I have a real love of all of Bonnie & Camille’s fabric lines (they are what got me hooked into quilting!) and this line, Hello Darling, is equally wonderful! I realized that all of my quilts that I have made are from Bonnie & Camille fabrics…that’s how much I love them!
Aren’t the patterns great? Sew Lux Fabric did a beautiful job combining them all together for this quilt. They used different patterns from Thimble Blossoms. I think my favorite is the appliquéd Flower Patch pattern!
I added this cute little girl that I found on some fabric I had and appliquéd her in the window of the house. I think she is just the right size peeking out to say hi!
I love any fabric with strawberries and was so excited to find this for the back of the quilt! I also had this cute little quilt label that I hand appliquéd. It is so important to label all of your quilts so that generations from now will know who and where it came from.
Quilting is my very least favorite part of making a quilt…this is partly why it took me so long to finish it! I sort of get to that point and put it aside for a while until I make myself finish it. My Bernina sewing machine has a BSR (Bernina Stitch Regulator) foot that is absolutely amazing at what it can do (and the reason I wanted it), but I still can’t get too excited about the quilting process. I just want to piece the top and be done! 😁
I quilted the top using an easy straight-line scallop stitch. The border was done with Borders Made Easy paper. This is a roll of paper that has a design printed on it that you stick to your fabric and stitch right through the paper. It makes it super easy to have a pretty pattern that you want, without free motion quilting or having to transfer the pattern yourself. When you are finished stitching, you just tear away the paper and you have a nice quilted border!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my quilt!
