Strawberry season is here and I adore any fabrics or sewing projects with strawberries on them! I just think they are so fresh and pretty looking! Here is a fun and quick sewing project from Down Grapevine Lane that I discovered. You could even sew these strawberry pincushions all by hand if you’d like!
I used my favorite sewing notion, freezer paper, to trace the patterns and then hand appliquéd the felt stems, leaves and flowers with embroidery floss.
I had some little sewing pins that I used for the stamens on the flowers…they look perfect! I also wanted to try and make a mini strawberry pincushion, so I reduced the pattern by half and left off the leaves. It turned out so tiny and so sweet! I think it works perfectly as a zipper pull on a zippered pouch…what do you think?
I think these would also be so cute to just hang on a doorknob in your bathroom, kitchen or even your car! They just make you smile when you see them! Of course I had to photograph them in my vintage Fire King Jadite berry bowl!

Speaking of strawberries, I have a super cute strawberry quilt that I want to start, but first I have to finish a vintage sheet quilt that I’ve started. I am so excited to work on it more!!
