Hi and welcome! Well, here it is…my very first post! This is really exciting and a little bit intimidating too, especially the technical side that goes into creating a blog! Ask me any day about sewing supplies and fabrics and I could comfortably talk to you all day, but all this technical stuff has me feeling a bit lost and confused! However, as I always do when learning a new hobby or craft…I dove in and just started! Hopefully you will be patient with me, I have so much to learn! Here is a little bit about me and some photos of my sewing room…
I hope you will enjoy my blog and find a lot of inspiration here! I love being in my sewing room and creating beautiful things with pretty fabrics. People ask me all the time what do I make and I always tell them everything…except maybe clothing! I have only been happy making pajama pants for my son but hopefully I will get into more clothing patterns soon. I enjoy making quilts, bags, accessories, and just about any other sewing project. I also enjoy embroidery, cross stitching, knitting, cooking, and playing golf. I just wish I had more time in the day!
Speaking of my sewing room…this is my girly room! I have a son, so I jumped on the chance to finally get aqua and pink in a room and it just makes me happy to be in here. This is where you can find me with my coffee as soon he is off to school!
This is my new sewing machine! It is a Bernina 770qe and I really love it! It is a big upgrade from my previous Janome.
All of the furniture is from IKEA. I had fun designing this space and have everything I need in here.
This is my ironing station. My ironing board is a piece of MDF board cut to size from Lowe’s. Then I covered it with a layer of batting and used a staple gun to add some pretty fabric. It is a firm ironing surface which is great for ironing! I also love this cart from IKEA! It works great for holding my ironing supplies.
See all of my pretty fabrics? There is more hiding behind the doors! I admit I have a problem with buying fabrics! Why is it so hard to cut them and use them? Maybe this blog will help me to finally use them and keep me from buying more for a while…um, probably not!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will enjoy seeing my projects here soon!
